Location: Laurel CD Links to recorded presentations were removed from Sched on June 15. All registered attendees have received an email with direct links for access. Recordings will remain available only for registered attendees until they are released to the public on NASIG's YouTube channel, after an embargo. The Covid 19 pandemic has accelerated the need for researchers to access content in as frictionless an environment as possible and highlighted the need for libraries to determine the relative impact of their content investments (both OA and subscription) in a tight budget environment. Publishers, discovery services, and industry initiatives are collaborating to facilitate these important processes. Project COUNTER is exploring how to better serve OA publishers and consumers. SeamlessAccess is streamlining and standardizing the Identity Provider discovery process that drives federated authentication. GetFTR is working with discovery services and content providers to better signal to researchers “upstream” that they have access to full text, both OA and subscribed. The technical infrastructure that enables these services can have many moving parts, but underpinning all of them is the desire to protect user privacy while delivering the best user experience possible.
